FADE

In my third year at university I worked with a group of 38 students and created our own radio station.

FADE Radio was a student station that played danceable music 24 hours a day. This included upbeat music from the past 20 years.

My primary role within the station was daytime producer. I would liaise with my presenters with information I had found for their shows. I worked with them to make sure they were comfortable with discussing the topics I had found for them to talk about as well as their own.

Additionally, I timed their shows to make sure they did not run over their allocated time of three minutes per segment.

Moreover, I helped with the running of competitions on the show.

I also worked with the marketing team to create the promotional material before we went live. This included a pull-up banner, flyer, visual content wall, room posters and hoodies (you can sew this in the design section).

As a team we all took on the role of presenting where I presented two shows 'Raise then Roof with Beth and Trush' and ''FADE Girls'.

Second Year

LIVE RADIO

In my second year I took Live Radio which consisted of a live two-way segment which involved a phone call where one person was the broadcaster and the other was a presenter.

I also had to take part in a live radio show which lasted 15 minutes. This involved taking on different roles; I had to take on different roles, the first show I was the producer and the studio manager, which involved me creating content for the show, making a package and getting contributors to take part in my show and time keeping. In the other shows I was the technical operator and the presenter (drive time show).

Each show consisted of a phone call, a package and a live interview.

MUSIC PROGRAMMING

I also took a module titled Music Programming where I created a new radio station had to complete a one hour radio show.

My radio station was called 'Spotlight Radio' which was aimed at the student market in Birmingham, I made a schedule of all the shows that would appear and a in-depth plan of the station.

My one hour show was titled 'Soundtrack Sundays' this was one of the shows that would appear on 'Spotlight Radio'. 'Soundtrack Sundays' was a show that would broadcast every Sunday and played all the latest and gold tracks from well-known film and musicals. Some of the songs included: The Greatest Showman, High School Musical and Fifty Shades'.

First Year

Radio is one of my passions. I enjoy presenting and producing content for radio shows.

During my first year created a five minute package on feminism and touched on views different people had and how feminism has effected them.

I also produced and presented a 15 minute live radio show. The topic I chose was 'throwbacks' which played songs from the last 10 years which reflected my childhood.
